Melanie Britton
Mrs. Arizona United States 2009 Melanie Britton is a passionate educator and woman who loves her family! She is blessed to be married to her “Prince Charming” husband Richard, and has 2 beautiful children, Alexis and Markus. Together they enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping and fishing…as long as mom is the one “hooking the worm”! A music educator for 18 years, Melanie is a high school band and choir director and continues to perform professionally on the saxophone and has appeared with the Tempe Wind Ensemble, Phoenix Symphony and recorded several CD’s. Melanie lives her platform working to raise awareness for the importance of keeping the Fine Arts as an integral part of our nation’s public school curriculum. She is the Fine Arts Department Coordinator at her school, Vice President of the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association, member of CHODA, AMEA, WBDI, MENC and was named the 2008 Teacher of the Year.
