Christine Wooley
Mrs. Oregon United States 2009 Christine’s favorite saying is, life is a precious gift of time that should be lived with courage, strength, and compassion. Christine has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for many years. Following the aftermath of Hurricane’s Katrina and Rita, Christine traveled to Louisiana to help build a house for a family that lost their home to the hurricanes. Christine is also a volunteer at the Portland Art Museum. She feels that helping to keep museums vital is critically important to our society. Christine believes that art education and appreciation inspires industry, gives us historical knowledge, and heals the human spirit. Christine’s platform is the American Heart Association. This choice was inspired by the strength and courage of her five year old niece that had a successful open heart surgery last year.
