Leigh Jordan is a wife, a mother of 3, business owner and recently crowned Mrs. Maine United States 2012.She re-entered pageantry after a 14 year hiatus for one simple reason…to teach her children a valuable lesson. Her children, ages 4, 5 and 9 are overwhelmed with multi-media images of celebrities and the vanity, greed and avarice portrayed in “reality TV”. In order to teach them that “It’s nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice”, She needed to show them that there are ways for people to use their time, talents and notoriety to help others in need and not only for attention or personal gain.
During her reign, she will be focusing her efforts on two specific charitable entities: Dress for Success and the Florence House. Her efforts in supporting these two charities will truly change the lives of women in the State of Maine.
